Robert Brown, also known as DJ SMS 'passion for music started at a very young age. He grew up playing Percussion instruments, the clarinet, and composing music for his high school drumline. Growing up he was influenced by the various types of music he was introduced to while growing up in Los Angeles. While studying Music Education at San Diego State he was often the one curating the playlist for local parties and events. This would lead up to him playing the local parties and events. After college, SMS quickly started working local parties and events to build his brand. This would lead him to working at Los Angeles based radio Station 93.5 KDAY. At KDAY, Robert worked on the street team, while owning his skills as a DJ and MC. He was lucky enough to become the Saturday Night On Air Mixer on Los Angeles popular radio station 93.5 KDAY, In 2020, he became the Monday Thru Friday Night show mixer on Mega Hits 97.1 in Santa Maria. He has had the incredible opportunity to open for many artists while working the nightlife scene such as OT Genasis, French Montana, Chris Brown, Too Short, & Eric Bellinger. In 2019 & 2020 He was able to open for comedic Legend Mike Epps On his comedy tour, Platinum Comedy Tour.
